2) You are traveling in Australia. During your travels, you want to call your parents in U.S.A. It costs A$4.25 for the first 3 minutes and A$0.78 cents for each additional minute. If you talk to your parents for 15 minutes, how much will it cost in US dollars?












3) You were told that you had $400 to spend on a trip to Australia.

a) How much money do you have in Australian dollars to spend?



b) Let's say you had 78 Australian dollars when you came back. How much money do you have in US dollars? How much did you spend in Australia?

2) 1st 3 min: $4.25
next 12 min: ($.78)*12 = $9.36
Total cost: $4.25 + $9.36 = $13.61
In US dollars: $13.61 * $0.63 = $8.57

3) a)(400)*(1.57) = $628
b) $78*(.63) = $49.14 in US dollars
Spend in Australia: $400US-$49.14US = $350.81US
In Australian $: 628A-78A = $550A
