3) If each teacher gets one fourth of a pizza also, how many extra pizzas would need to be purchased to serve the 5 teachers?

4)   If the school bought the pizzas at a discount price of $5.00 a pizza, how  much would the pizzas cost for the students and teachers?

5)  What would the total cost of the party be if you include the drinks and  the pizza?

6)  If the students contributed money, and $150.00 was collected, could the pizza and drinks be paid for with only the contributed money?  If no,   how much more will they need?  If yes, how much change would they receive after paying for the items?

8)  Paper plates will be bought for the party.  Would it be cheaper to buy one package of 200 plates for $10.00, or one package of 100 for $5.59 and   one package of 50 for $3.89?

9)  The principal said there needed to be one parent volunteer for every 20 students attending to help with the party preparations.  How many volunteers would be needed so that all students would be helped?

Answer for Sheet # 1 (End of Year Math)

1)128 students x 2 drinks/student = 256 drinks
Pizza = (1/4) x 128 = 32 pizzas

2) Drinks = 128 students x 2 cans/student $0.55 = $140.80
Teachers = $0.55 x 2 can x 5 = $5.50
Total = $146.30

3) 5 x (1/4) = 1 and quarter pizza = order 2 pizzas

4) $5 x (32 pizzas for students + 2 pizzas for teachers) = $170 (they will need)

5) $170 for pizza + $146.30 for drinks = $316.30

6) $316.30 - $150.00 = $166.30

7) Pepperoni = (1/2) x 128 = 64 students
Pepperoni = (1/4) x 128 = 32 students
Cheese = 32 (Students)

8) It would cost $9.48 to buy 150 plates. It is cheaper to buy 150 plates as you only need 128 plates.

9) 7 parents
