Sheet # 7/Favorite Jelly Bean Colors

Name: _____________________ Date_____________

Explain and Show Your Work

Easter is coming and that means jelly beans. Each year the students in Mrs. Stevenson's class are given an opportunity to pick an extra large jelly bean treat by it's color. Last year John, Jackie, Dean, Kathy, Candace and Maurice were the first six students to get their jelly beans. Mrs. Stevenson said the choice of colors was red, orange, blue, yellow, green and black. She asked her current class to use the following clues to match last year's students with their favorite color.

1. John preferred to eat a yellow jelly bean.
2. The student who sat next to Dean liked the color red.
3. The tallest student liked blue.
4. Candace did not get along with Dean.
5. The students could see better when Maurice sat in the back of the classroom.
6. Kathy discussed answers with a student who liked chewy candy.
7. One student liked a color that had the same number of letters as their name.
8. Candace liked plants, especially leafy ones.
9. Dean liked licorice.
