2) Find the length of the distance of the throw from home base to second base.

3) Mary is exactly halfway between second base and third base. Find the length of her throw to first base.

Answers for sheet # 9

1) Using Pythagorean Theorem

distance x distance = (90 x 90) + (90 x 90)

distance x distance = 8100 + 8100

distance x distance = 16200

distance = 127.27 feet

2) Same as above.

3) Right angle triangle will be formed.

distance x distance = (45 x 45) + (90 x 90)
distance x distance = 2025 + 8100
diistance x distance = 10125
distance = 100.62 feet
