1. Oh, what an early morning! I had to get up at 6:00 a.m. to catch the 6:50 a.m. bus to get to school. It takes my bus 35 minutes to get to the school. What time did I arrive at school?
2. When I entered my classroom, there were 22 boys and girls sitting down being quiet. I noticed that half of them were boys. How many girls were there in the classroom?
3. We stood up to say the Pledge of Allegiance at 8:00 a.m. that morning. Our teacher told us the schedule for the day. We don't even get to eat until 12:12 p.m. How long do we need to wait?
4 Finally, it's lunchtime. After getting in line for lunch I noticed that I am 14th in line out of 22 students. How many students are in front of me?
5. After lunch, we got to have quiet time reading books from the classroom. Wow, there are a lot of books to choose from! I started with a book entitled, Holes, by Louis Sachar. The first chapter begins on page 3. I read 18 pages before it was time to quit. What page will I hopefully be starting on tomorrow?
6. Now it's music time. I love to sing. I couldn't wait to get to the music room so I started humming to myself in the hallway. My teacher told me to wait just 3 more minutes. How many total seconds is that?
7. Next was P.E. time. We had to go outside and run in the hot, blazing sun. I jogged slowly around the track for 12 minutes. How many total seconds did I jog?
8. What a day, school is almost over. I'm tired and hungry. It is now 2:20 p.m. The principal will dismiss us at a quarter to 3. How many minutes will I have to wait?
9. Finally, the bus is taking off from school. I arrive home at 3:45 p.m., go out to play until 5:30 p.m., come inside to eat dinner, and then I watch TV until my bath time at 8:30 p.m. I finally go to bed at 9:00 p.m. I wake up the next day at 6:00 a.m. How long did I get to sleep?
