Bob's Pizza Parlor is having a sale on small pizzas. Today, small pizzas are on sale for $5. Large pizzas sell at the regular price of $12. The diameter of a small pizza is 8 inches. The diameter of a large pizza is 16 inches. Jackie decides to buy two small pizzas instead of a large one because she thinks she will save money and have the same amount of pizza. Is Jackie's decision correct?

Answer for sheet # 43

Area of a small pizza = 3.14 x 4 x 4 = 50.24 sq. inches

Area of two small pizzas: 100.48 sq. inches

Area of a large pizza = 3.14 x 8 x 8 = 200.96 sq. inches

Obviously, Jackie's decision was incorrect.
