Name: _____________________ Date_____________

Use drawings, words, or numbers to explain how you got your answer.

Mice weigh one pound, cats weigh ten pounds, and dogs weigh one hundred pounds.

Ten mice, ten cats, and five dogs are playing on the seesaw.
On one side are three dogs, four cats, and three mice.
On the other side is a baby elephant that weighs 325 pounds.

How will you make the seesaw balance?

Answer for sheet # 100

3 dogs = 300 pounds
4 cats = 40 pounds
3 mice = 3 pounds

Total weight on one side of seesaw = 343 pounds

Weight on the other side = 325 pounds

Replace two cats with 2 mice. Then you will have 325 pounds on the left side.
