Jared bought four marbles. One was blue, one was red, one was green and one was black. He puts them in a straight line. How many different ways can he arrange the marbles, and still keep them in the same straight line?

If you follow this pattern you should get 24 combinations. Number sentence = 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24 combinations.

If you have 5 objects, then number of combinations are 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 120
