A solid wooden box 80 cm long, 30 cm wide and 60 cm high has to be painted with three coats of paint. Each one liter can of paint covers 20 000 sq. cm. How many cans of paint you would need to buy?

Surface area of the box:
60cm x 80cm x 2 sides = 9600 sq. cm.
30 cm x 60 cm x 2 sides = 3600 sq. cm
30 cm x 80 cm x 2 sides = 4800 sq. cm

Total surface area of the box = 18,000 sq. cm.

You need to buy 3 cans of paint to three coats of paint. Each can would one coat as one can cover 20,000 sq. cm
