Answers for sheet # 218

1) $39.99 x .25 = $10.00
$39.99 - $10.00 = $29.99
$50.0 - $29.99 = $20.01
$20.01 - $19.99 = $.02

2) 15 x .25 = 3.75
15 - 3.75 = 11.25 for balloons
30 x .15 = 4.50
30 - 4.50 = 25.50 for the cake
25.50 + 11.25 = $36.75 for the decorations

3) 85% of 1400 is 1050
1050 x .08 = 84
1050 + 84 = $1134 for the computer

4) 175000 x .40 = $70000 for the homeless
175000 x .25 = $43750 for the youth group
175000 x .15 = $26250 for a new van
175000 x .12 = $21000 for building repairs
175000 x .08 = $14000 for staff raises

5) 357 – 183 = 174

174/357 = .49 or 49%

Mr. Bilbo needed 174 more tiles, or 49% of the tiles required to cover his house.
