1) The number of boys in a class is 80% of the number of girls. If there are 30 girls, how many students are in the class?






2) The savings of a woman who spends 85% of her salary were $450. What salary did the woman receive?







3) During one season a baseball team won 117 games and lost 63. What percent of the games it played did the team win?






4) In 1925 a man's salary was $1750 and in 1935 it was $2750. What percent did it increase in the decade? At the same rate of increase what would his salary be in 1945?

girls = 30
boys = .80 x 30 = 24 boys

2. .85x + $450.00 = x
.15x = $450.00
x = $3000.00

3. 117 + 63 = 180 games played
117/ 180 = 65%

4. ($2750 - $1750)/1750= 0.5714 = 57.14% increase.

Salary in 1945 = $2750 + $2750 x 0.5714 = $4317.50
