 Prime and Composite Numbers

Prime numbers are numbers that have only 2 factors- 1 and itself.

Example: 3: 1 x 3= 3

3 x 1= 3

1 and 3 are the only factors of 3. Composite numbers are numbers that have more than 2 factors.

Example: 9: 1 x 9 = 9

9 x 1 = 9

3 x 3 = 9

9 has more than two factors. The factors of 9 are 1,3, and 9.
