2) The population of Mathville in 1987 was 17,160. In 1982 the population was only 14,830. Round the numbers to the nearest hundred and using rounded numbers, find the population increase between 1982 and 1987.
3) On Back to School Night, orientation was held in two areas of the school. A group of 830 parents, teachers, and students met in the cafeteria and 162 met in the gym. By rounding to the nearest hundred, estimate how many people were at the orientation.
